Design & the Opioid Crisis

Please join public health professionals, planners, architects, designers, and othere to discuss ways the built environment can effect the opioid crisis. Topics to be addressed are an overview of the opioid crisis locally and statewide, alternatives to pain management, the intersection of health and design, and design and community planning efforts in Kensington neighborhood.

During lunch attendees will have the opportunity to select one of several roundtable discussions on issues related to the opioid crisis. Roundtables will be hosted by representatives from Porch Light, Mural Arts Philadelphia; Drexel University College of Medicine and Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University; Public Health Management Corporation's Center of Excellence, PA Youth First initiative, and Research and Evaluation Group; Commerce Department, City of Philadelphia; and Impact Services and New Kensington Community Development Corporation.

FitCityPHL explores design strategies in workplaces, neighborhoods, and cities that improve health by bringing together individuals representing the sectors of architecture, planning, design, landscape architecture, development, public health, research and evaluation, academia, philanthropy, and government.
